How To Create Excitement In Life

Hello Friends,

I’ve been cocooned at home since the pandemic, and while I enjoy the warmth and security of our home, I have been yearning to move about and visit the shops and eateries in our area.

Car rides to other towns have been a staple since we have been married. We often get dressed, grab a couple books and our favorite snacks and just drive. We enjoy the scenery, do some ‘house-shopping’, stop to grab a bite and walk about. We meet new friends, young, old and sometimes furry! Cultivating the appreciation for local travel has been a great, inexpensive way for us to spend quality time with each other.

We have been prepping for a local trip since March, and decided that today would be a good day to enjoy one of those scenic rides. In anticipation, we bought travel utensils, a new family read and a Nintendo Switch game. We got new masks from the gas station (fancy, I know), grabbed our sparkling strawberry drinks and set out to explore a new state.

As we drove, we drank, talked and listened to music, while the kids played their Switches and cracked jokes in the back. While driving we happened upon a Home and Garden Cafe, pulled in and stayed for brunch. On the way back we took a different route and discovered a beach!

There are so many ways that we can create opportunities for discovery, relaxation and excitement. How will you choose to explore this week?
